Everyone loves to look great. Walking around in a new outfit while getting compliments always puts a bounce in your step. Even though there are times when you’re stuck buying only what you can afford, there are other times that with these three easy steps you can keep looking great without spending a lot of money.

Less

  1. Sales – Watching for sales, looking for coupons, and for discount codes can save you lots of money. Newspapers contain advertisements from local merchants of the current sales they are offering. The newspaper often will have coupons in them that can be taken into the physical stores. An internet search will show websites that contain discount codes and printable coupons for various merchants. Merchants for both physical stores and for those that are only online, use a secondary website to advertise all their discount codes and coupons. For example, JC Penney’s uses the website Groupon.com. Here you will find all the discounts and coupons that are currently being accepted now. By using these discounts, you can purchase new pieces for your wardrobe, either online or at a physical store, at a fraction of their original costs.
  2. Second-Hand Stores – There are plenty people that believe buying clothing second-hand is grimy and it makes them queasy to think of wearing something another person has worn. In reality, if you look at the clothing to ensure that each piece is clean, in good repair, and still has a lot of life still in it, you can get an additional piece for your wardrobe at a fraction price. There is nothing that can’t be washed. With the reduced prices it makes the hinting or the cheapest a thrill. Name brand items are found at second-hand stores at the discounted prices. You get the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to keep the revenue in the community and that you are helping to recycle. On the same lines as the second-hand stores, you can also look at rummage sales, consignment shops and yard sales for discounted clothing as well.
  3. Repurposing Existing Items – Reusing the items you already have, in different ways, is the absolute cheapest way of changing your look. A wrap that came with one shirt can be added to a dress and completely change the look. Scarfs can be used to make a skirt. A long sleeve shirt can be wrapped around your waist and used as a skirt. If you are good with a sewing machine, the options are endless. An oversize shirt can become a strapless dress. T-Shirts can be turned into numerous things. A scarf, a tank top, a spaghetti back shirt.

Nothing feels better than knowing people are admiring your outfit. Whether you’re frugal or just short on money, there is always ways to spruce up your look for little to no money at all. With new inventory arriving daily happy hunting.
